Mammoth Helps Wecom Inc. Delivers Huge PipesWecom Inc. and sister company Data-Max Wireless announced this week they have reached a milestone in growth of 4,500% over the last 187 months, increasing their broadband internet base drastically. Wecom Inc and Data-Max has deployed the latest in fiber backbone services coupled with licensed Microwave Wireless, which has provided Wecom Inc and Data-Max with the resources necessary to deliver the highest quality broadband to customers such as Mohave Community College in Colorado City, AZ.
Wecom's installation of a 1Gbps fiber connection in St George has allowed the company a competitive advantage from St George to Colorado City, and allowed Wecom to be a competitive provider to slower telco services and less-than-reliable cable Internet service. Wecom and Data-Max clients receive Internet service over microwave and wimax to a tower network in St George and Colorado City. Microwave is quick to deploy into new subdivisions and business parks, and the technology is at the height of reliability, allowing Wecom to bundle voice to its clients.
"We knew the key to success in the Colorado City market was the 1Gbps fiber through St George," stated Paul Fleming, COO of Wecom and Data-Max Wireless. "Our history is in telecom, and we wanted the same quality of service for our clients in southwest Utah and all of Arizona."
Fleming explained that a partnership with Mammoth Networks allowed the company a rural fiber solution at a fraction of the cost available in other areas. That connection was key to reaching the company's subscriber milestone. Wecom uses Mammoth's fiber solution to deliver Internet and to privately reach Wecom's voice platform. The connection, Fleming explained, allows the company to accomplish both goals with a single handoff.
Internet service through Data-Max is provisioned with the company's 54 years of experience in the public safety and telecommunications arenas, delivering the highest-quality service to Wecom and Data-Max's clients. The company has also drawn from its rich history in the two-way mobile and microwave markets to embrace an easy-to-deploy broadband solution.
Data-Max Wireless is owned by Wecom, Inc, a telecommunications firm established in 1958. The company delivers residential and business services throughout Arizona, including high-bandwidth and voice bundles. Data-Max and Wecom are positioning their services to replace traditional telecommunications products in rural markets.
